I was able to identify the audience in this piece because the author stated, “The Trump administration has national security concerns when it comes to foreign dominance in microelectronics.” This quote helped me see that the author is focusing on the United States of America because she discusses national security and The Trump Administration which are in charge of the country.
- Purpose- To inform Americans on a problem that the country is facing.
The author states, “the COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted supply chains, workforces and demand.” This quote is one of the many examples the author proved to show the barriers and struggles engineers are facing attempting to solve the problem stated earlier in the article.
